my shooting star

It’s 11:11,

I still wish for you;

Your safety, happiness, and for dreams to come true.

When we first met,

Was it love at first sight?

First day of high school,

Transfer of classes,

And obnoxious laughing

Like a boombox blasting.

Can I say I hoped I’d see you again?

I’ve always wondered if you think of me, too.

Now it’s 2 a.m.

You’ve entered my thoughts and haven’t left since then,

So I thought I’d played scrabble

With the feelings you brought upon,

Sadly my thoughts are locked into a knot,

And my words have shattered like glass.

Maybe there’s nothing between,

But in the deep abyss, I’ve found something.

You are the miracle in the night sky,

My friends say you’re too busy aiming for the moon,

But do they know I see a shooting star?

And made a wish every time I glanced your way?

Maybe you see comets in my eyes;

I mean I can be ice cold and allergic to dust,

But sadly I’m only particles in your world,

Yet in mine,

You are a burning spark,

Leaving a trail of passion and ashes of your flames;

A different kind of rainbow in the atmosphere.

You’re the smell of rain,

You’re my cup of tea,

You’re the reruns of Hallmark movies,

You’re the winter’s butterflies,

You’re the early dawn’s good mornings,

You are all the things,

I love most in life.

It’s 11:11,

I still wish for you;

Your safety, happiness, and for dreams to come true.

When we first met,

Was it love at first sight?
