My Real Home

My eyes, blind to an orderly Earth

Discord. Turmoil paved the way

A struggle, a downhill climb from birth

I searched for comfort, day by day

Home

After home

After home

After home

We had traveled, never a permanent place

House to house and year by year

I would see but one familiar face

In my mind, it would adhere

My little sister is the one

To keep me grounded to the end

More than just a source of puns

She’s my family and a friend

She taught me well, in a sense

To be kind, protective, full of love

She did quite a nice job, hence

Why I would never think to be above

These values that we both share

How am I like this?

Because of my sister’s care.
