For a year now, I've been free from high school.

Or at least I thought I was free from its rule.

For that year, I chose to be lazy and not do anything,

Not even acknowledge my brother's engagement ring.

Or care about my friend's clipped wing.

But then 2014 hit and I wanted to change,

Starting with my responsibility range.
