My Mirror

You were my sunlight & my silver moon

The breathless island & the swirling sea

My thought-dreams in the pink afternoon

And I seemed to think that you needed me

Because you shattered the clock face in the sand

& you sniped the telephone's tangled wire

Your beautiful words- they reached for my hand

& made me feel waves of an embers fire

but the drugstore people all turn their heads

Then say the peddler's an angle in disguise

Even you think there's some who'd be better dead

& that one time you unconsciously lied

But you showed me a flame possessed by few

& for this, I just want to say, Thank You
