My Little Service Dog

Cessna,

Have I ever told you

how proud I am?

How proud I am of you.

You grew from a little boy

of twenty-some pounds.

Twenty-some pounds at four months.

As you grew, you learned

how to help others.

And now you do that every day.

Mommy is so proud of you Cessna.

I am so proud of you.

From the beginning

I knew you were special.

You were special to me at least.

Way back then,

you were my best friend.

And my best friend you'll always be.

But you have another friend,

your child to care for.

And that child's safety trumps me.

So keep making me proud, Cessna.

Keep making me proud.

Forever I'll be proud of you, little airplane.

Keep soaring high and smiling.

Wear that vest with pride, and never forget

how proud I am of you.

Love, your foster mama
