My Injury Doesn't Define Me

Ever since I awoke from a coma I’ve been questioning myself Will I be able to drive or get a bachelors degree
My injuries have prevented me from driving but thankfully
I was able to obtain an associates degree

Because my memory doesn’t always fail me

I had a dream to be just like Peter Jennings
But unfortunately life events got in the way of that
I’ve since changed my goal for employment
I want to do great things but I don’t have to be the star Because being content works just fine for me

Today is the day I have decided to change my mind for good I will be happy no matter what may occur
Even if that brings challenges I will succeed
Making it this far shall not be forsaken

Because I am alive and I am a champion
