My Heart

Sun, 03/02/2014 - 00:13 -- cgoins

My heart was broken

from the start.

No man can keep it

from falling apart.

My feet carry me

to a safer place.

But my heart stays

in a locked case.

My eyes shift

and watch the strangers.

But my heart contracts

away from such dangers.

My hands, outstretched,

cling to the light.

But my heart

hides in the dark.

My heart was broken

from the start.

No man can keep it

from falling apart.

But wait, who's he?

He smiled at me.

Perhaps he's the one

that holds the key.
