My Habit

Where does the time go?
Where did my life go?
I was just sitting here trying to get high
one day I looked up and I was gone

I see the grayness in my skin
the ashes that burn like the spoon in front of me.
Just add water to my reality
I can give you forty units of my time

Most people are running to something.
setting goals and reaching for happiness.
I found what makes me happy.
This ONE thing but it kills me just the same.

Have you ever seen someone turn blue?
In their glassy eyes you see the future.
Addiction is a selfish bitch.
She requires all our attention. - See more at: http://allpoetry.com/poem/10903345-My-habit-by-Xea-Allen#sthash.ZhOTt54f...
