My Former Fear

They had haunted me since a child,

Their speeds, their heights all very wild.

My fear for them always reviled,

And once there, excuses compiled.

Roller coasters were kryptonite

Because of the drops and the height,

Because they’d break the speed of light,

But soon I’d be in the spotlight.

I went to the house of the mouse,

A trip friends so I could not grouse.

I wanted to stay at my house,

But I’d soon face a worthwhile rouse.

I went on all their greatest rides.

And was no longer horrified.
