This is a sonnet; it has fourteen lines
The purpose of its creation quite lame
Simply to avoid my mom’s and dad’s whines
And I suppose not to feel so ashamed
To satisfy my English teacher’s will
Surely not something fun of my own pick
What kind of student would find it a thrill?
But now that I am getting in the kick
Writing this sonnet is less of a pain
Especially since it’s replacing chores
It’s most definitely less of a strain
And I’m sure to get some amazing scores
Each of these lines is ten syllables long.
And nothing that this sonnet says is wrong.
