My Far and Near Johanna

Location

Oh, from the pain and woe of our distance,

To the rollercoaster of emotion in our reunion.

The growing excitement, that turns to gnawing anxiety

At the locking of our eyes

Nervousness numbed by a fuzzy stupor,

As we walk from your terminal to my car.

Reality, unsure.

Calmed only by the sensation of your hand in mine,

As our songs serenade us from the car radio.

Then anxiety and giddiness are bested,

By passion and confidence.

As I, like a child tracing the corners of a gift he must wait to open,

Glide my hand over your accepting and familiar thigh.

We drive on.

Love mixes with lust,

 and passion, and desire,

All now surging through my blood,

As we reach our destination.

Slow and savoured moments

Turn to primal lashes of impatience.

We again feel as one in body,

As we always do in heart,

And in mind.

Our fire burns hot and bright,

And releases us, finally,

From the prison of our distance.

We are left dizzy, hearts pounding.

Flames quell to embers,

And hot turns to cool.

We lay intertwined,

Lost in each others eyes,

The smell of your hair and skin

soothing my racing heart from near eruption.

The feel of light sweat on the back of your neck

Meeting my fingers in your hair.

We kiss,

Each exhaling warm air that rolls over the other’s lips,

As we catch our breath.

Our bodies, relax,

Our fervors, recede.

The reality of the moment,

And my surreal love for you, eclipse,

And I am asleep,

No longer.
