My Dark

Being afraid of the dark is one thing

Being afraid of my dark is another

My dark is beauty and power

Not violence and sour

I shouldn’t give you fear

I shouldn’t give you tears

I am not a danger

I am not a stranger

My dark is burdened by the expectation to be on your best behavior

Or they’re won’t be a savior.

I was born in America just like the rest

my color shouldn’t determine my test.

This poem is about:
Our world

I would like everyone to understand our color shouldn't determine the fear in people's eyes. We are all equal and its time for a change.
