MY COMFORT AND COMPANION

Fri, 05/17/2019 - 09:56 -- mwanja

My heart aches and my soul is in pain

As this journey all seems to be in vain

The core of my being is tormented

The veins of my physique all tensed

A rose flower is a beauty

With honey sweet fragrant

Though if not careful, your skin it pierces

So is love if carelessly trend upon

Am hurting deep within

My soul is on a wild goose chase

As I undertake a never-ending love race

Am tired of pinning my feelings to the wall

Over and over I ponder

Could it be a huge mistake?

So far is the distance between us

Is this imaginary love? I ask

You were my comfort and companion

Now loneliness my daily companion

How I long to hold you in my arms

And feel that tender love that bonds us

From a distance I look

Couples everywhere, so it seems

Love is in the air, for those who are aware

N yet for me its loneliness

You are ever in my mind

The tide that dashes upon the shore

Keeping my heart awake

And my dreams alive

I now send a little whisper

In the cool breeze of the night

That you walk by my side once more

To be my comfort and companion
