My Best Man

Frilly and girly was never your thing
Muddy brown boots, some brakes, a vintage car
And engines make your trusting heart sing.
Your technology skills surpass mine by far.
Sky blue eyes and those tiny laugh lines
A head and some shoulders taller than me
Witty, poetic and stubborn sometimes
Clearly, that is how some friends have to be.
Senior year is nearly over, worth the fuss
Soon we will say our goodbyes and we’ll go
And time and distance will separate us
But we will always be friends, I know.
Through it all, I will be your biggest fan
And I love you. From Me, To My Best Man.
