My Angel

Location

My angel . . .

Even though it has not been too long since you left me,

I can still feel you.

Your beautiful dark brown skin,

Your eyes like beautiful emeralds,

Your hair beautifully long and black and,

Your smile like pearls sparkling in the sun.

My angel . . .

The one who always cared for me,

The one who would take me to and from the park,

The one who would bake me your famous oatmeal raisin cookies,

The one who would tell me funny stories about your youth,

like your times in school and raising my father and my uncles,

The one who would come see me when my parents would work.

My angel . . .

There was so much more I wanted to do with you.

There was so much more I wanted to do for you.

There was so much left unsaid,

But I guess it was time for you to become my angel.

The last stanza because it is how I felt when my angel left me.
