Must Be What Mother Earth Feels Like

Her joints are the dark brown of knots in wood
Body like a tree, stiff
Yet rolling and soft, like how the guardians look together as they blanket land
Eyes hypnotizing, sun and moon
And her smile curves like the beach of sand
Empty skin, so dotted with lakes
Dips and dives and moles that rise
Legs ribbed with cellulose
But what does she care
Those fossils buried beneath loamy ground
Are just remnants of a time gone by
She is the earth, solid, strong
The inescapable, ever present
One in the mirror
