As I sat on the subway train, I couldn't help to look to my side in a train full of people.

There was a man, the only man sitting alone.

He was reading War and Peace. He looked at me and smiled.

I smiled back and he continued to read the novel.

As I observed this man's features.

Sharp jawline, dark skin, well kempt, a very stylish man.

Five minutes passed and more people entered the subway at the next stop.

Many stood standing.

A man of fair complexion in a suit and tie

swiftly sat next to Mr. War and Peace without noticing the man.

Minutes later, he looked to his side and Mr. War and Peace smiled.

With a disgusted look on his face,

the man with fair complexion stood up.

He would have rather stood on the train,

than to sit with a man of color.

How could you look at a peaceful man,

as if he wounded your brother.

For his melanin did not declare war.
