Moving On

Tue, 08/01/2017 - 18:53 -- vakles

I don't know what to do.

You are returning but it's...different now.

I won't have my family,

or all of my old friends by my side.

I will start a new year,

in a new school, in a new city, in a new state.

I'm slowly packing all of my things,

piling it all up in a corner of the room,

family offering their old things to take with me.

I'm looking online for cheaper prices

to textbooks that I'll be using,

and slowly realizing how much life will change.

My mom won't be there.

Neither will my dad or my sister,

nor all of my school friends,

who saved me from myself.

I'm terrified for the changes yet to come,

but it is all just around the corner.

And while I'm sitting here,

I'm slowly realizing,

"I'm moving on to a new life."
