A Mouth That Speaks No Words

Location

Where is the color?

The flavor tasted by the eyes.

Where is the emotion?

Hidden behind worksheets of lies.

Why is it that we are slowly sinking

Into unsociable demise?

So we're are taught to be quiet,

We are taught to be wise,

But what's wise about our silence?

Is this where our future lies?

Our world is expansive,

It needs brave souls.

But those souls are being silenced,

Within their controlling schools.

Students need to be be taught to debate,

Taught to relate, to converse,

To initiate.

Because in world as expansive as ours,

We can't afford to be silenced.

Our world needs our precious voice.
