His laugh

His smile

That he is contempt with being near me

Makes me happy

I see his new set of teeth

I see him handling things clumsily

I see him trying to do what I do

He is learning and that

Makes me happy

His expression when I pick him up from daycare is

Priceless

How he wants me to hold him

To be near him and that

Makes me happy

Oh I know that he will grow out of it

That he will not want to hold mommy’s hand

That he will want to do things on his own

That he will one day become an adult and not rely on me

But for now I will savor what I can

His laugh

His smile

And those things

Makes me happy
