Mother Earth's Sweet Lullaby

“I brush away the shadows and all the stars leave cries;
I kiss you good night and all is calm again;
(I believe my love for you extends to the skies.)

The hearts singing out in lows and highs,
And convulsing equator beats in:
I brush away the shadows and all the stars leave cries.

I imagined that you danced with flies
And exasperated my kin, laughing in vain.
(I believe my love for you extends to the skies.)

Apollo melts away; Artemis howls with her rise:
Dim away chariot and chain:
I brush away the shadows and all the stars leave cries.

I conceived you’d mature in size,
And I dream of hopes that I detain.
(I believe my love for you extends to the skies.)

You grow and I lie in wait for the surprise;
At last I feel your breath it soothes the world again.
I brush away the shadows and all the stars leave cries.
(I believe my love for you extends to the skies.)
