Mother

She is my guardian

She is my guide

She is the person who will tell me the time.

Although appearing very nice with a smile on her face,

Don’t you dare make her mad

Or else you might suddenly become very, very sad.

Now what you smell is her burning turkey

Please disregard the fire alarm

I am oh so very sorry.

Don’t get me wrong

Don’t let me down

Everyone has a few faults

But let me show you around!

She’s always there

Always forgiving

She’s always working

And always providing.

Now I imagine a Thanksgiving dinner

With turkeys, potatoes, and peas,

How lonely it would be

If my lovely mother wasn’t sitting there

Right next to me.

I win an award

A great accomplishment

She gives me a pat on the back

That was sure worth it!

I’m going to bed now

Time to call it a day

She’ll always be there

Forever in some way.

It’s that time of day now

Yes it certainly is,

It’s that time of day now

Forever be with me.
