Mother

From out of the womb, to inside of the tomb,

you are the one who will be with me forever and ever.

You gave me comfort, you gave me love.

Just like an angel, who came from above.

When times were rough, you became my mama bear.

When times were good, you were always there.

She nurtured her son, like a good parent should,

she nurtured her son because there was no other that could.

Growing up, I still remember,

those great times we had, in late December.

When no one was there for me, you captured my tears.

When no one was there for me, you conquered my fears.

You do your job, like it's not an occupation,

but you do it so well, never taking a vacation.

Let us make a promise to never hate each other,

because how can her own son, hate his loving mother?

It was inpired from when I told my mom that I liked poetry and that I liked to create poems. She told me to make her one and this is what I came up with, it literally made her cry. I really meant this poem from the heart, and I am glad that she was able to see that through my words.
