More then the Disability

Head spinning form all the screaming

Voice whispering words of hatred

Of how we don’t belong

Can’t even see me throw the fog

You see only the disability that is part of me

I wear like a target and you come with those words

But you don’t know as I get older those words make me stronger

For now I stand stronger and so do the people like me

Not going to give into though words anymore

Going to stand taller than yesterday

For we are who we are

Are disability is only a part of the larger picture

But is not us alone

For we have to make a stand

Stand for me

Stand for you

Stand for family you know

Stand for the end of the word retarded

 For we are people

We are more than meets the eye

And with this power now I stand to fight

Stand with me and we can change a world

We can change life, just by being nice

Change hatred for kindness

One at a time we can make the change

Staring now join hand and hand
