Mommy and Me

To be waiting …

For weeks …

To know …

To see …

If maybe …

It’s true …

It’s happening to you …

Wondering …

Waiting …

Hoping …

And …

Praying …

Then to hear the words you dread …

Swarming around inside your head …

You have cancer …

How could it be …

No not me …

It can’t be …

That’s how I can only imagine how it would feel …

No not my Mommy …

Will she get better…

All this from a cell with only one letter …

Daddy help Mommy …

Make her better …

Take away the cell that’s only one letter …

Daddy where did you go …

I can’t do it alone …

You loved Mommy for 23 years …

I know you have fears …

I know it’s hard to stop the tears …

Now daddy’s gone …

Now it’s just Mommy, me and the cell known as T …

How could it be …

Now it’s all up to me …

What can I do …

How could the cell known as T …

Make Daddy leave …

Now it’s all up to me …

I have to help Mommy fight the cell known as T …

No Mommy put the gun down …

I need you around …

Please don’t leave …

It’s just you and me …

We don’t need Daddy …

Daddy’s with another lady …

Now we’re free …

No more Daddy …

It’s meant to be …

Mommy and me …

Fighting the cell known as T …
