Momentum

Realization...is a stranger when it knocks on golden doors
But it's not forsaken...nor in danger, when it shatters on the floor
Shatters strong in silver tatters, glistening in iridescence while the rain drips evermore

And across the way, my body lies enveloped on a freshly woven shore
But that body doesn't seem to breathe nor live
And twirled within its veins...the pulse no longer gives
And like an ember, slowly will it fizzle out...
Pause...
Then cast aside its doubts
Regain its life and find a cause to live another day
And within those veins, a flame ignites to light it on its way

But it does not bite...nor does it burn, nor does it scar my skin
But strokes it soft with delicate hands
With fingertips that drip caress...that pools upon my broken flesh
And draws upon my neck and jaw, tips my chin...then takes me all
Shuts my eyes for me to see...
Drowns me in a peaceful sea
But see...

I go weak at the knees and my eyelids flutter
When your lips meet mine and my heart starts to mutter
Then stutter...
As my shoulders find shake
And my arms find your arms in the stillness that takes
(us both)
For in silence we're wrapped up in reverie
Blind to the world and too blind to be seen
Lost in a world where whispers come alive
And the ears are deaf to the fears that subside

But still see...
Your lips upon mine are a peaceful relief
And release...
From the chaos in life that reigns in supreme
And where I once was forsaken...you've put me at ease
For the past...it was a blasphemy discharged
One that forced me to draw nigh and defend my heart
Yet such memories are vanquished when you lean upon my chest
When the cold is stilled from warmth that stems from your caress
Porphyritic and immense when your lips move to my neck...
And for once, there is relaxation...

There is calmness, there is peace
Where we are caught in naught but near perfection as we settle into sleep...
And rock in sweet and swift momentum while the sleep decides to keep...
