Moments

We're moving forward

slowly, yet resolutely

toward the tragedy that lies behind,

the mystery gently revealed.

I think I know the way.

I see the shape the path is beginning to take,

when suddenly

we take a turn I never saw coming,

a turn into wonder,

into beautiful brokenness.

All at once it hits me.

The pain,

the desolation,

the fear,

the joy,

the freedom.

All of it simultaneously

already but not yet.

It is in this Moment,

this beautiful and terrible

and simple and pure

Moment

that I see it.

I see that all the parts,

the soundtrack

the artwork

the characters

with their lines

and their voice actors

are all instruments being played,

and this Moment

is their song.

Moments like these,

their soft voice.
