A Modern Cinderella

Once upon a time…

There was a young girl and her father

The girl’s name was Cinderella

He married a young woman who had 2 children, Anastasia and Drizella.

One day, Cinderella’s father went on a business trip and never returned

The stepmother was very demanding

She made Cinderella be the maid of the house

Cinderella did the dishes, laundry, and scrubbed the floors.

What the stepmother did not know was that Cinderella had some mice friends

Jaque and Gus Gus where her only friends for that matter

Except, she was not a good friend to them

She trained them to do the chores for her.

All Cinderella did was watch Netflix, sleep, and go on her phone

When she was scrolling through Instagram she remembered that a school dance coming up

It is a Halloween Ball where you dress up in costume

She then went to Pinterest to look for a costume idea.

She wanted to wear the risky costume of Sandy from Grease

She was trying to impress some boys at the dance

There was only one problem

Cinderella’s stepmother.

Drizella and Anastasia are jealous of Cinderella

They are afraid that she is going to win the title of Halloween Witch

They told their mother to not allow Cinderella to attend the dance

Cinderella was heartbroken.

On the night of the dance, Cinderella stayed at home to help the mice

But the mice surprised her with her Sandy costume

So, she snuck out to the hair salon so they can make her look the part

The hair lady, Nancy, was her fairy godmother for the night.

Nancy told Cinderella that when the clock strikes 12, her hair will begin to frizz

Cinderella did not want to let the guys see her with frizzy hair

She promised that she would be home before that happens

So Cinderella set off for the ball.

She rode a motorcycle to the dance to help her look the part

When she walked in she did not recognize anyone besides her sisters

Anastasia and Drizella both wore matching princess dresses

At least Cinderella knew who to avoid.

Then, from across the gym, was a guy dressed as Danny Zuko

It was fate. Sandy… Danny… it was a perfect match

They danced the night away

Cinderella was falling in love.

Ding! Ding! Ding! The clock strikes 11:55

Cinderella dashed out of the door as fast as she could while holding onto her hair

Danny chased after her

He was too late.

She hopped on her motorcycle and sped away

But something fell out of her pocket

Her phone case fell off

The boy scooped it up.

She did not make it far

Her motorcycle ran out of gas

She hopped off and ran the rest of the way on foot

When she got home her hair was a mess.

The next day at school, everyone was talking about how Danny was looking for his Sandy

He was trying the phone case on every girl’s phone to see if it would fit

Of course Cinderella’s stepsisters tried it but they have an Android and the case is for iPhones

But they knew something that most people did not, Cinderella used to have that phone case.

They brought Cinderella into the bathroom

They locked her in a stall and would not let her out

They thought that if they cannot win the guy, then no one can

Cinderella sobbed in the bathroom.

Jaque and Gus Gus climbed out of her backpack

They snuck underneath the crack in the bathroom door

They jumped up and unlocked the door

Click!

Cinderella just made it to class 2 minutes before the bell would ring for release

She walked up to Danny and asked to try on the case

He handed it to her and it fit perfectly

They finally knew the real person who was hiding behind the costume

He reached into his backpack and pulled out a diamond witch hat

“We won witch and warlock of the dance,” he said.

Cinderella was ecstatic

They embraced in a long hug and exchanged phone numbers

They have been dating ever since

They will grow up and live happily ever after
