Modern Aphrodite

Thu, 07/18/2019 - 20:47 -- lrw6903

Modern Artemis goes out with girls

on lithe motorcycles

wears leather

exudes power

silently dares men to call her dyke

owns space with a confidence

that ties their tongues

Plays barroom archer

with perfect aim

steps out of the bathroom with

collar popped

and lipstick on her throat

Takes winding roads up to the woods

blends effortlessly with the sun-splotched ground like a tiger in the grass

Wades into powerful rivers

stretches out on the sun-baked earth to dry

throat to the sky

Listens to the rythms of the forest

until the sun sets

then heads home
