Mobile Deceit

We walk: heads down, minds consumed

By the ever-growing social haven

That we seize in grasp.

Its palpable exterior draws us in;

The smooth, glassy cellular solid

Holds promises of euphoria.

It’s face-to-face no longer,

Only double taps on a virtual memory.

Human interaction is lost.

Where did it go?

My mouth is woven shut,

Tapered at the ends with a hashtag.

And all that’s audible is

-ping!-

Our world
