Mistress of Jubilation

Hathor is the Goddess of many things,

Of love and femininity and music and cosmetics and jewels and metal and mines and protection and sustenance and joy;

She lives now in the beauty vloggers,

And Instagram models;

In the mothers and grandmothers;

In the performers and entertainers;

She lives in the pounding beats of clubs,

And the sweet and soft music of indie bands in small cafés too;

She whispers words of love and encouragement to the women who are self-conscious,

And afraid,

And hurt,

And she tells them to be brave in a voice that the other Gods sing praises of in reverence and love,

Enveloping them in her sweet floral scent and comforting warmth as gentle as the morning sunlight,

And helping them walk with their heads held a little higher,

And more confident steps,

And easier breaths with a coy smile on their lips as Hathor lives through them,

Humming in pride and joy.
