I am the kid
you see everday
pretending like
everything is ok.

I look from
the outside
wanting to
be on the
inside.

I'm the kid
who stays alone
afraid to let
you see the
real me.
I'm the
kid who grew
up way
too fast
and never
got to
be a kid.

The kid
who helps
his family
so they can
pay their bills

I'm the one
no one understands,
I'm the one
no one sees
behind his
mask. I am
the one who
just needs a
friend, someone
who loves me
for me.

This poem is really touch an it really does speak out to those who know what it means to be on the outside looking in, as your title implies: the misfits. It is strong piece and definitely a topic that you can stretch on and bring about more imagery and open up to more, and I love reading this. I would like to see you fix up the format so that it flows easier as your reading it, and doesn't read as choppy as it does now, cutting off what you're saying so sharply. All in all though, I loved this piece and thank you for sharing it.
