Misconceptions of a Woman

Locations

Beauty and acceptance, priority and deception, these are just a few of any woman’s misconceptions, you’re an heiress to the kingdom not any man’s possession, but I can’t just blame the media for this misconstrued perception, society breeds misogynists I’ve noticed this since my birth, we call the fairest of them dimes so they don’t know what they’re worth, enveloped in insecurity with a dwindling self-esteem, so I’ll refer you to the book of Proverbs verse 22 chapter 18, I used to not think this way but then I got a little older, now I understand why beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, now I’d like to take this opportunity to help you all understand, the truth behind every misconception of a man, beauty isn’t looking like the model on the screen, beauty isn’t fitting into size double zero jeans, I’d much rather you be self-assured and confident, and I wish that you’d accept it when I tried to give you a compliment, you’re worth too much to put up with the infidelity and lies, you don’t have to shut your mouth or put your true feelings aside, he should still open doors and even sometimes pull out chairs, we don’t have to go to bed for you to show me that you care, you’d think I wouldn’t have to say this because it’s all rather cliché, but the fact is this sort of thing happens every day, I spend my days praying for a foolish generation that will pass up on true love and settle for penetration, consumed by lust inside their hearts, desire in their eyes, a need to feel affection so they buy into the lies, a broken self-image and inability to trust, an addiction to sex far beyond the parameters of lust, a lost sense of value and amidst the self-loathing, an affinity for short shorts and attraction to tight clothing, and for some I know this might seem like an inevitable fate, and the amount of girls affected has grown at an exponential rate, but we can no longer blame our ignorance on the fact of being human, we must pursue to rectify any misconceptions of a woman

You're free to think whatever you want. And while some girls choose to objectify themselves, sexism is very real in today's society. That isn't up for debate. It's a fact. To argue otherwise would be very ignorant.

I agree with what you are saying and I find sad the path of where the future is heading towards. However, people have to stand up and unite otherwise we will go backwards instead of progressing forward.

Gabriel Gonzales

Thank you for your feedback. Although I sincerely think this is an issue that needs more attention, I think more individual attention should be given. Parents, teach your daughters what they're worth and teach your sons how to treat them. Unity can't do what going to the root of the problem can do. But that's just one man's opinion.

This was really good, until it sounded like you were demeaning girls who wear short shorts and tight clothing. Yes, the media oversexualizes our bodies and I don't agree with that at all, but if you assume that wearing such is because we seek attention instead of being comfortable enough in our own skin to be sexually positive.. then it looks like a double standard was set. Hopefully that's not what you meant and I read it wrong, but if not- how much clothing we choose to wear or undress really does not amount to our level of self respect.

Gabriel Gonzales

Yeah, sorry about the confusion. At that point I sort of flopped back to the male perspective, but failed to convey that because it wasn't flowing well. It definitely wasn't meant to take a stab at self-confidence.

Thank you so much! That's the kind of response I was hoping for! There is too much at stake in the lives of the young women of this generation to not say anything! Thank you for your feedback!
