Mirrors

We fear transparency. We deposit ourselves in front of reflective mirrors for hours at a time taking in the true nature of ourselves and try all the more to cover it up, until the image in the mirror front shows us what we’d like to see; and that’s what we broadcast to the world. We have perfected phoniness. But at the end of the day, we realize the futility of the guise, wash it off and embrace our real selves yet again but for a few hours more only to wake up and follow in the same vicious cycle.
