Mindless ...

Proverbs 25:6-7 New English Translation (NET Bible)

Do not honor yourself before the king,
and do not stand in the place of great men;
7 for it is better for him to say to you, “Come up here,”
than to put you lower before a prince,
whom your eyes have seen.

Yes! I’ve been baptized over again in the river Jordan

Does it make a difference in what I want to be?

Many an experience made no change in my life

Maybe this will be the answer just wait and see

Always I am searching for better greener grass

With spray-paint on my heart, I’ll change the scenery

I’ll make it any color to fit my sole imagination

As I try to fill my emptiness in my chosen menagerie

My life is a display-case where many stop and watch

Whatever is shown in that place will it not direct them?

Amazing that things of value are hidden by the acts

of a half-hearted commitment through this wobbly tent

Maybe some blinking lights in the Christmas season

Will brighten what is not splattered in my existence

Artificial works are done mostly in just self-appeasing

To escape reality and the moments of solace’s presence

Like a picture on the wall I had to frame myself in

Now it’s hanging on the wall of my memory banks

To be recognized with others, the camouflaged has-beens

Who seem to be like me rewarded with a mind of wasted “thanks”?
