With sentences that make clear sense

And verses all in even time

Each measure with so many feet

And every foot identical

It must sound fine when spoken loud

Grammatical and natural

Your syll'bles should be counted up

Ensuring that your scheme is square

Make it pleasant-- but not trite

Pick each and every word with care

Yes, these are all the rules I use
