The Message
Location
Words on a page are poetical,
ten-thousand voices are musical.
Both combined are so beautiful;
God's wonderful gift called song.
Leave me not a message,
but a poem, if you can.
For I love to sing all day long.
Whether peace like a river
or God's judgment on man;
you leave it to me to ponder about,
a song or a thought you began.
With everyone you meet you have done this thing.
So leave me a message,
but be careful what you sing.
Free captives, break hearts, build towers and walls,
All this and more your words can do.
Lines on dusty paper, voices recorded, casual talks,
And my favorite; poems in song.
Yet meaningless, meaningless, are all these proverbs,
without faithful action and proper passion.
Cursed is the man who lives a double life.
May God have mercy on us all.
