A memory that still sits

Mon, 05/05/2025 - 11:01 -- 2566384

you never noticed did you,

how your smiles got lost with mine,

and you high five your dads hand when he came from work,

and spun you around the last time.

memories washed up on my shore,

and i kept them with me,

reminders of days,

climbing the big tree

in my childhood

i wanted to touch the sky

i wanted two dogs

i wanted to fly high and high

sweet memories of childhood

came to me like a breeze

memories that got me smiling ear to ear

memories that tickled and tease

before sleeping my mom told me stories

she also fed me delicious food

she talked about angels or heroes bravery

and that put me in a good mood

i surely miss my childhood

those were beautiful days

only food fun and playing with friends

tension free all the way

i go back to them everyday

nostalgia comes crashing in with tea

these memories bring back smiles

and i keep them with me

you never noticed did you,

you didn’t notice the last time,

you pretended to be asleep in the car,

just so your mom would pick you up around bedtime.

you didn’t notice did you,

how the rain washed up your chalk on the road

and you haven’t picked more up

like that was the end of your ode

you didn’t notice, now did you
