In Memory Of:
December 16, 2012
In Memory Of:
Newtown, Connecticut Students and Teachers,
Life right now is extremely stressful,
It is a constant push and pull.
Just two days ago, we lost more than a friend,
Now we have many things we are trying to mend.
We can't make sense of it all,
And when we try to, we always seem to fall.
We got the news early in the morning,
Our emotions struck us without any warning.
We thought it would be easier to turn and run,
For the crime committed had already been done.
All we really wanted was to flee,
Knowing that those lives are now only a memory.
We have friends, family who are uplifting,
Even in those arms, our emotions kept shifting.
The memories we have will last us a lifetime,
Even though this pain is like the constant spinning of a dime.
Nobody deserves to live in this pain,
For it is those lives lost that the tears fall like rain.
Things will get better, they have to,
If only there was something that I could do.
Being so far away from the hurting families,
I only wish to provide them with certainty.
Certainty that things will improve,
Whether these dark clouds stay or move.
Life goes on and so will the sorrow,
It will get easier, but not until tomorrow.
You tell yourself this is just a dream,
Trust me, I know the feeling.
No one wishes to go through this,
But YOU are strong, so do not resist.
Let the tears fall without any shame,
For the ones who loved you, are the ones who came.
Thank your friends and family for being there for you,
When life as we know it sounded too bad to be true.
I wish you the best in hopes you can move forward,
When only thinking of the memories, can you look backward.
Take care of those you love and who love you,
For with them, this moment, you will breakthrough.
God Bless you and your family!!!
