Lightly floating on a winter breeze,

Swirls of white and silver twist,

Blanketing the land in an ice-cold freeze.

Sparkling like the finest mist,

The land becomes a snowy landscape,

Moonliight bounce and wink,

Soft hushes make the soundscape,

The sky, a lovely pink.

Spiraling fantastically wind and snow

Are formless shapes and sights to behold.

Liquidly dancing, a very strange show.

Trickling high and fluttering low,

Snowflakes spin and weave a tale.

Riding on breezes these beauties are pale,

From the sea of clouds they hail.

The freezing hand of winter grips the land,

Covering all with its icy sands.

These tiny grains form massive dunes

They pile up to the wind's howling tune.

But these sands will melt with the coming of time.

Spring will weep its tears of life

Turning all to a bright green lime,

And once more, life is restored.
