What does it mean when i say i love you?
How do you express a hearts devotion with only words?
If only i could put my heart inside of you,
And you could feel the way i feel inside,
As the words "I love you" pass my lips, it feels as if a part of me is lost,
But found again inside of you, only to return fulfilled, as your tender voice, quiets my heart with your love for me.
The words are filled with aching, as if some desperate task that seems impossible , is soon to be completed.
Anticipation, of love requited,
And the caress of your eyes, the soundless gaze that eases my pain.
The words are loaded with the passion of a thousand days, of a man who can see but never touch his lover.
As i sleep i miss you, the words i said as we kissed goodnight, are hope that i can make it through the night.
As if while im sleeping, my heart may explode with the grief of unexpressed passion and love.
When i say " I love you", it means more than just emotion, it means that your name is written in my heart,
And every cell and drop of blood knows you, your scent, your touch, your passion.
All these things make you a part of me, a part of my being that is as necessary as the heart that pumps life into my body.
Without you there is no life, no sweetness would ever touch me again, i would cease to be in an instant.
Only the ghost of a once proud man, to wander lost in the dark.
Remember when i say "I love you", they are never just words.
They carry the weight of a thousand ships, loaded with the riches of love destined to be fulfilled.
