The Maze

I’m beyond lost
In this maze
They call life
I’m caught up in this place
Where I’m bewildered with strife

Rain falls
Out of confusion
Within self
Lacking the answer I yearn to find
The anger
For not knowing
who I am
For not knowing
what I want
To be knocked down yet another level from
security
certainty
reliability
Slipping farther and farther away
From my true self
I think yet
don’t know
I want but
don’t desire
I have but
don’t utilize
Anymore

The path remains one-way without struggle
For awhile
Yet when all is well and becomes habitual
Is the moment where
You must chose
Right or left
There is no gray
Only black and white
It is at these times when it pours

Choose left
You’ll make us proud
You’re one of a kind
You can make a difference
We’ve been there before

The rewards
Of knowing you made someone’s day
Took their advice
Made them smile
Pleased the world
And you’re satisfied
For awhile

Choose right
It’s my life
It’s what I hunger for
Listen to your heart
Follow your dreams
Make your own decisions

The rewards
Of knowing you deserved what you thrived for
You gave it your all
You made it happen
Being satisfied with yourself for an eternity
For you have finished the maze
And have found yourself.
