Material Self

Why do we want so many useless things?

Iphone, laptop, jewelry, branded clothes

Can we say that joy is what all these bring?

Or we use these to tease someone we loathe?

Say, a man does not have a bank account

Nor any possession under his care

Can we say his life is less paramount

Can we say his life is lived in despair?

Some people buy their coffee from Starbucks

Others just bought theirs from a random store

By doing so, they saved a few more bucks

Buy something for themselves a little more

It really doesn’t matter how we spend

These things won’t be with us until the end.
