The Masquerade of Shadows

Sun, 12/21/2014 - 20:43 -- Apollo

Why do you mask yourself in the darkness?

And dance in a masquerade of shadows?

When you know well dark shades can not cloud my vision

Why then would you make such a decision?

I see what you attempt to elude

I see what you foolishly believe shadows will seclude

Light is but a luxury

For one who can see, for one like me

Why do you mask yourself in darkness?

And dance in a masquerade of shadows?

Continue should shadows trully grant relief

However little can be done to obscure your grief

From one who sees through trivial cloaks

Such as your beloved darkness, which is but a hoax

Continue your seclusive masquerade

The passing of time is with me, and the darkness will fade

Why do you mask yourself in darkness?

And dance in a masquerade of shadows?

Why hide, cower, and remain in your dark gown?

Why let your secret slowly break you down?

Soon your shadows will fail

As the sun shall rise, and light will prevail

Do not shroud your anguish in this darkness and opression

Because ones with vision such as me still see such depression

Why do you mask yourself in darkness?

And dance in a masquerade of shadows?
