Masks and Mirrors

Location

My mask is made of mirrors,

My mask is what they see of me,

Their own misconceptions,

Ideas, experiences we've shared.

There are shattered reputations,

That cannot be repaired,

I strive to be a rebel,

But only sometimes have I dared.

The more I strive towards honesty,

The sooner I will have won,

It is a fractured personality,

No one wares just one.

Then one day the world will see,

The mirrors have melded together,

When the mirror is unbroken,

I hope it reflects me.
