Marionette

The Gods slayed a saint today.
Tore a hero off a shelf and threw it up to heaven.
God caught her on his thrown and tossed her into a built up pile of forgotten souls. Not once stopping to acknowledge her battle scars or her comforting aroma of Butterworths pancakes.
Just tossed her to the side. Stole her away from me... to
what? Build an empire of nobodies who were once somebodies to somebody?
Preachers tell me I am misguided.
I calmly correct them.
Let them know that their "God" I once confided in let me in on a little secret.
He told me that we are all puppets. Selfish people playing tug of war with a masked vigilante. He told me we have all failed. "Accept the bitter truths of reality child. There is NOTHING out there for you."
I felt stupid at first..
Thought life was a lost cause.. a test of Darwin's theory or perhaps the Lords patience.
I came to understand quickly, that life's a bitter symphony of broken Julliard's that chose freedom over fame. The music plays on and it's soft and when the silence overcomes, it gives you something to hold on to. but when you're busy, you don't listen. ignore the most beautiful stanzas.. Only opening your ears for mistakes.

They laughed and called me crazy.
I can see how they don't comprehend my ways. So I just told them that freedom is often misunderstood and continued to seek out brighter days.

Oh nation.
You are all just puppetry and the lord has an invisible string wrapped around your necks..

I understand where you come from. Something happens and you become mad, upset. You lose all trust in God asking him, Why? Why take this person away from me? Why let me go through this? A person can keep asking why and get upset but things happen for a reason. Whether it is for you to learn from it or Him testing you to see if you would lose your trust, God knows what he is doing. I understand, but we are not His puppets. We are his daughters and sons. We are testimonies. We are living in this world temporarily with a greater Promise sitting at his throne waiting to receive us. Everyone has a time and God knows that and so should we. I appreciate your poem and thoughts and without God bringing me to a church service yesterday I don't know if I would have this message for you. God Bless You and keep writing!
