Marigold

Looking like a ball of fluff

Sometimes an eye and sometimes not

But in the cold you’ve had enough

You stay out when it’s nice and hot;

When the weather’s cold you like to hide

Because if you don’t you’re prone to rot

Petals lined in rows; side by side

You’re like a daisy but much more round

In most environments you can abide

You can stay when there’s no frost down

And you can come back annually

You root in almost any ground

And when you sprout from all around they see

Because you shout “Hey! Look at me”
