To March in a Parade

I think it's pretty neat
All the people I get to meet
Got my hair pulled back with some hair pins
Standing around because I know it's going to begin
The kids get something sweet
A nice little candy treat

No ones getting paid
To march in a parade
But the smiles we make
Makes us want to stay

Marching down the street
It's starting to hurt my feet
Look over see the kids smilin'
Glad because I'm not playing violin
Watching us move along to the beat
Making our way down the street

No ones getting paid
To march in a parade
But the smiles we make
Makes us want to stay

With instruments in their hands
You start to see the band
Playing without a music stand
And the drum major gives them the command

Just waiting to catch a sneak
Of the wonderful beat
Coming around the turn
Seeing someone get a sunburn
Sitting outside in the heat
People line the streets
Because they knew it was that time of the week
