Manufactured Smile

For years she's been deceived, dissapointed, dismayed

But never would you see her frolicking in those emotions

See, she was a great pretender

Always had a mask of a smile on her face

But behind the mask lay sadness and self-hate

It was her coping mechanism; the infamous fake smile

When in reality she was struggling within herself

Hopefully one day she'll be able to genuinely smile

Minus the mask and lies and fake hellos and fake goodbyes.
