A soldier in a heated battle
with a weapon at his side;
his life is such a struggle
‘cause he travels far and wide.
This world is full of warfare,
and he’s fightin’ for his life;
you can hear the calamity in the air,
and it causes so much strife.
The war is now at end,
and they’ve compromised with a truce;
everyone has a hand to lend
to keep alive the peace.
Now he’s givin’ up his badge
and hangin’ it for remembrance on the ledge.
